✨ What a Behavior Support Plan Does

A positive behavior support plan looks closely at behavior and identifies:

  • What may need to change in the person’s schedule/home/work environment

  • How staff should respond when behavior occurs

  • What new behavior/skill the person can use instead

  • How staff should teach and support the new behavior

✨ Your Role in PBS Plans

You will not usually write the plan, but your input matters because you:

  • Spend the most time with the person

  • Notice changes and patterns first

  • Can help the team understand what’s happening and why

✅ What you may be asked to report

  • What is happening around the person when behavior occurs

  • Who is present

  • What happens immediately after the behavior
